Under the new management of Jacek & Ilona Pawlowski, our iconic flagship Information Center looks foward to showcasing beautiful handcrafted jewellery alongside the remarkable story of kiwi ingenuity and determination that created these unique gems.
Jacek and Ilona Pawlowski have owned and operated the successful Blue Pearl Gallery in Christchurch's Central Business District (CBD) for many years, until the February earthquake shook their premises to the ground and it has now been red zoned.
Jacek and his team are delighted to extend their commitment and craftsmanship into the Akaroa Visitor Centre, however, they remain hopeful that at some point they can once again return to the CBD.
The last 4 months have been a tremendous struggle for this family. They have lost so much and the future of Christchurch remains uncertain. They have devoted their hearts and their minds to this new project.
